Pac-12 has five in future Power Rankings

The Pac-12 doesn't have any teams in the top 5 of the rankings, but there is a quintet of teams securely in the top 25.

Our eight-person panel of CFB experts graded teams on five criteria, each given different weights, to determine the three-year outlook of college football's top teams. They used that data to compile the 2016 College Football Future Power Rankings (Insider).

  • Stanford Cardinal: David Shaw's bunch may not be elite from a current talent or recruiting standpoint, but the coaching staff does the best with what they have and it shows. With a very favorable title path and a firm foundation the program checks in at No. 7 in the rankings.

  • USC Trojans: We're not sure what to make of the coaching situation at Southern Cal. The other pieces are there for an elite program over the next three years, but it remains to be seen whether Clay Helton is the right guy. The Trojans are No. 13 in the overall rankings.

  • UCLA Bruins: With a balanced ranking across all five criteria, the Bruins are mid-tier in the rankings. One panel member wonders what could be if Josh Rosen takes a step in the right direction and the team stays healthy. UCLA sits at No. 16 in the rankings.

  • Washington Huskies: Our panel loves what Chris Petersen is doing at the helm in Seattle. With current talent, recruiting, title path and foundation rankings in the 20s, coaching stands out as the program's strength by a wide margin. Overall, Washington sits at No. 21 in the rankings.

  • Oregon Ducks: Phil Knight may not be in the driver's seat at Nike anymore, but his money has built an incredible foundation for the program. Now the question is, when the two teams play can Oregon continue to fend off the advances of regional foe Washington? The Ducks are No. 22 in the rankings.
