CB Xavier Rhodes (knee) inactive for Vikings vs. Titans

NASHVILLE -- While the Minnesota Vikings try to win Sunday with former backup quarterback Shaun Hill starting against the Tennessee Titans, they'll hope to slow down Marcus Mariota without their top cover corner.

Xavier Rhodes, who was downgraded to questionable Sunday morning because of a knee injury, is inactive for Sunday afternoon's Vikings-Titans game, meaning 2015 first-round pick Trae Waynes figures to get his second career start at right cornerback. Waynes, who started against the Arizona Cardinals last December, should be opposite Terence Newman on Sunday.

The Vikings also won't dress wide receiver Jarius Wright, who has slipped down the team's depth chart after signing a four-year contract extension before the 2015 regular-season opener. The team had tried to trade Wright in the days leading up to the 53-man roster cutdown, and with a set of versatile wideouts moving ahead of the slot receiver on the depth chart, Wright wore a backward baseball cap and talked to offensive coordinator Norv Turner during warmups on Sunday morning.

Also of note: Tight end Rhett Ellison, who tore his patellar tendon on Jan. 3 against the Green Bay Packers and was removed from the physically unable to perform list just less than three weeks ago, will play for the Vikings on Sunday.

Here is the Vikings' full list of inactives:
