Giants' locker-room gifts range from OBJ sneakers to $1,800 Ghurka bags

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- It is the holidays, a time for giving even during a disastrous season that mercifully has one week remaining.

The New York Giants locker room is still a place of giving, and you never know what will find its way in front of a locker. As they prepared for Sunday’s matchup on the road against the Arizona Cardinals, gifts were distributed throughout the week.

So what do you give to a group that materialistically seems to have everything?

From star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.:

Each player had a Nike box in front of their lockers this week. In it was a pair of Beckham’s Air Force-1 Mid OBJ sneakers, laser orange in color.

There was a note that read:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

From OBJ -- Nike Football

From quarterback Eli Manning:

He took care of his offensive linemen. They received leather Ghurka duffel bags that retail in the $1,800 range.

Manning has always been good to his offensive linemen. He’s given them custom cowboy boots and flat-screen televisions the past few years. Apple TV’s, watches and custom suits were gifts earlier in his career.

The offensive line isn’t done. They also do a Secret Santa exchange.

From rookie DTs Dalvin Tomlinson and Avery Moss:

Some of the Giants' younger players decided to help their own cause in their individual rooms. Tomlinson and Moss had Big Green Egg grills and smokers sitting in front of the defensive line’s lockers earlier in the week. The package was complete with Eggcessories, tools and even a special bag of oak and hickory charcoal.

Some of the more prominent defensive linemen received the extra-large version of the grill and smoker.

From cornerback Donte Deayon and safety Darian Thompson:

The second-year Boise State players distributed some of their GoodEatz gear. The defensive backs room received black or red sweatshirts with GoodEatz on the front while most of the rest of the team received T-shirts.

GoodEatz is a brand started several years back by a group of Boise State football players that included Deayon and Thompson.
