PHILADELPHIA -- Jameis Winston sliced his way through the Philadelphia Eagles' defense on his way to a record-setting afternoon.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback threw five touchdowns to five different receivers and tied the NFL record for scoring passes in a single game by a rookie as the Bucs obliterated the Eagles 45-17 at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
Winston finished 19-for-29 for 246 yards with a passer rating of 131.6, as the Bucs evened their record at 5-5 and won consecutive games for the first time since 2013.
Lost in Winston's heroics was the stellar effort by running back Doug Martin, who rushed for 235 yards on 27 carries, marking the third-highest yardage total for a back against the Eagles all time.
What it means: The Buccaneers hadn't enjoyed a winning streak since Weeks 10-12 in 2013, the longest active stretch in the league. After a slow start this season, getting back to .500 should provide a major boost of confidence to such a young team.
Tampa Bay travels to Indianapolis next week before back-to-back home games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. After a trip to St. Louis, the Buccaneers host the Chicago Bears and finish the regular season at Carolina. It's not an easy stretch, but this team is trending upward with six games left.
The Buccaneers are 4-2 in the past six games and clearly look like a different team than the one that opened the season.
What were they thinking? Early on, down 7-0, the Buccaneers opted to punt from the Eagles' 36-yard line. It looked like a questionable call at the time. As it turned out, that decision never played a factor as Tampa Bay racked up 45 points. After such a dominant performance, it's hard to be picky about a questionable call.
One reason to get excited: The offense clicked in all facets despite a few penalties here and there. The line excelled and the offense ripped through the Eagles' defense on the ground and through the air.
One reason to panic: Rookie linebacker Kwon Alexander could face a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, a source confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Alexander would miss four of the last six games unless an appeal is filed.
Fantasy watch: Mike Evans had four catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Five players caught touchdown passes, but Evans didn't put up the huge numbers we saw in three of his previous four games.
Ouch: Safety Keith Tandy was reportedly being treated for a possible concussion. There was no immediate word on his condition as the game ended.
What a pair: The only pair of teammates to post at least 200 rushing yards and five passing touchdowns in the same game now include Martin and Winston along with Cleveland running back Jamal Lewis and quarterback Derek Anderson in 2007.
Twice as nice: Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy registered at least two sacks in a game for the sixth time in his career, tying David Logan (1979-86) for the fifth-most games with multiple sacks in franchise history.
