Last July, ESPN 150 athlete Derrick Henry (Yulee, Fla./Yulee), along with four other prospects, committed to the Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Mark Richt at the conclusion of Dawg Night. Long thought to be a lean to Florida, his announcement sent shockwaves throughout the Sunshine State and the recruiting world, giving Georgia a solid head start to the 2013 class.
Now, the Bulldogs coaching staff and fan base have received a similar jolt as the 6-foot-3, 242-pound Henry has decided to decommit and reopen his recruitment. DawgNation and TideNation take a look at the immediate effect his announcement has on Alabama and Georgia recruiting.

No doubt the loss of Henry, a physical specimen and one of the top overall prospects in the country, is a heavy blow for Georgia. The highly productive running back has amassed 7,866 rushing yards and 94 touchdowns, but because of his size Henry has been the topic of debate among analysts and fans alike as to where he might project the best in college. Colleges including Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee have given Henry assurances that he no doubt will get a crack at tailback once he arrives on campus, the only position the No. 47 prospect wants to play.
