OpTic India disqualified after forsaken found cheating

OpTic India was disqualified from the eXTREMESLAND 2018 Asia Finals after it was determined that player Nikhil "forsaken" Kumawat was using cheating software at the LAN event.

OpTic India lost its opening match 16-6 and were playing in the first map of a best-of-three knockout against Crazyguy's Team Revolution when the match was stopped. Administrators asked to check forsaken's computer, which he attempted to refuse, as seen by social video footage from the event.

The admin spotted a suspicious program running in the background, which forsaken attempted to delete and uninstall. However, officials determined they had enough evidence of the suspicious activity to disqualify OpTic India from the event.

OpTic India removed forsaken from the roster shortly after and said that the other four players had no knowledge of his actions.

The only Indian representative at the event, OpTic India is a project launched in May by the well-known North American organization.

"The player caught with hacks has been released from the organization, we do not tolerate anything like this," the Jesal Parekh, OpTic's Gaming International Development Director, told HLTV.org.

"We want to apologize to all the other teams and organizations involved. It is unfair for everyone involved. We also want to apologize to our country and to the fans who have supported us. This will be a big setback for the country, and it is really unfortunate that one selfish person is capable of causing this.

"An official statement will be released soon by the organization, but I want to make it very clear that the other four players had no knowledge of this and would never have agreed to even play if there was even the slightest hint of it."
