Bracket projection: Miami

The Miami Hurricanes ended the regular season with a four-game winning streak decided by a combined 12 points. Those four heart-stopping triumphs -- over Notre Dame, Boston College, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech -- pulled the Hurricanes into a third-place tie in the ACC standings and back into the national polls. In addition, the winning streak gave the Canes a 7-3 mark in the final 10 regular-season games before the ACC tourney (where they bowed out in the quarterfinals to North Carolina) without superb sophomore Bruce Brown Jr., who underwent foot surgery in early February.

Brown's surgery had a six-week recovery timetable, and it was thought possible he might return this week for the NCAAs, but the school announced Sunday that he would be unlikely to return. Without Brown, will the Canes be able to make a nice NCAA tourney run or did they use up all of their good fortune in that four-wins-by-12 total-points stretch?
