Phillies' Brandon Marsh to 10-day IL, will miss up to 3 weeks

The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Brandon Marsh on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left knee contusion and recalled infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The injury occurred Saturday when Marsh collided into the wall in a game against the Kansas City Royals. An X-ray and MRI revealed no structural damage for Marsh, who is expected to miss the next three weeks.

Marsh, 25, was batting .284 with a career-best .833 OPS, eight home runs and 44 RBIs in 101 games this season. In three seasons with the Los Angeles Angels and Phillies, he is a career .260 hitter with a .728 OPS, 21 home runs and 115 RBIs.

Wilson, 28, is making his first appearance in the major leagues. He was batting .260 with 25 home runs and 69 RBIs in 100 games with the IronPigs this season. Wilson signed a minor league deal with the Phillies in January after seven seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
