Stephen A. Smith says two scouts with opposite opinions suggest that the Lakers will have a tough decision on whether they will draft Lonzo Ball. (1:46)

The Los Angeles Lakers are bringing in former UCLA star Lonzo Ball for a second pre-NBA draft workout on Friday, a source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

The workout will not be at the Lakers' facility in El Segundo, California, and instead will be held at an undisclosed location, the source said. The Lakers plan to take a detailed look at Ball's work ethic.

Ball previously had an individual workout in front of the Lakers' brass, including Magic Johnson, on June 7. One source told ESPN's Jeff Goodman last week that the Lakers wanted to get a close look at Ball's unorthodox shooting form. Ball said a significant portion of that workout involved shooting.

On Tuesday, the Lakers met with the UCLA coaching staff about Ball, the source told Shelburne.

Ball's entire pre-draft plan has been to participate in workouts with the Lakers only, his father, LaVar, told Lakers Nation last month.

"That's all we working out for is the Lakers," LaVar Ball said. "Just the Lakers. There's nobody else that we need to work out for."

The Lakers, who hold the second pick in next week's NBA draft, had Kansas forward Josh Jackson in for a second look on Tuesday and also brought in Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox for a private workout.

The 6-foot-6 Ball averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game in his lone season at UCLA and shot 41 percent from beyond the arc.
