Dale Earnhardt Jr. had told his fans that he would not say anything on social media about the birth of his child until his wife, Amy, lets him.
Amy was in charge of the birth. And she was in charge of the notice.
Amy Earnhardt tweeted Tuesday morning after giving birth Monday night:
She's finally here! @DaleJr and I are officially parents to a beautiful baby girl, Isla Rose Earnhardt. It feels like a dream. The best dream ever. 💕

Earnhardt addressed the pending birth on his podcast "The Dale Jr. Download" last week.
"Me and Amy have been getting the house ready," Earnhardt said. "We have no clue what we're doing. This is our first baby.
"We have been told by everybody that has taken the opportunity or taken the moment to tell us that we have no idea what we're doing and that we can prepare all we want, we'll never be ready and get all the sleep right now we can get right now."
There was a chance the Earnhardt's baby could be born April 29, the birthday of Dale Earnhardt Sr.; she was born one day later.
"I'm thrilled to be in this position in my life," Earnhardt said in October when he announced Amy was pregnant. "I know that Amy has changed my life a lot, and I imagine this baby is going to have the same impact and just can't wait to meet her."
Earnhardt retired from NASCAR Cup Series racing after the 2017 season. He works as an analyst for NBC Sports and will compete in one Xfinity Series race this year.
