The WWE title-sized hole in the career resume of Chris Jericho is no more.
Jericho, 46, who made his WWE debut in 1999, captured the United States championship for the first time in his career on Monday night's edition of "Raw" in New Orleans.
In a two-on-one handicap match, Jericho teamed up with WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens to defeat Roman Reigns, with Jericho recording the pinfall victory following a Codebreaker finisher to win the title.
With his United States championship win Monday, Jericho added yet another distinguished accomplishment to his long and illustrious career. He became just the seventh person in WWE history to have held a world title, a tag team title, the Intercontinental championship and the United States championship over the course of his career -- a feat unofficially known as a grand slam.
After a series of close calls in recent weeks on Raw, with Reigns defending his title against both Jericho and Owens in clean pinfall victories, the loss snapped Reigns' first run with the title at 106 days. Reigns captured the United States championship in September at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view by defeating Rusev.

Jericho, who appeared to be unintentionally busted open on his hairline late in the match, recorded the pinfall shortly after Owens recorded a painful-looking power bomb as he hurtled Reigns onto the ring apron.
A native of Canada, Jericho began his pro wrestling career in 1990 and went on to win nearly every major WWE title, including the world heavyweight championship (three times), the Intercontinental championship (nine times) and the world tag team championships (five times). Jericho, a two-time WCW champion, also became the first WWE undisputed champion in 2001.
Jericho has yet to win the Universal and SmackDown tag team titles -- both of which were introduced to the company in 2016 following the latest WWE brand extension.
