Tabary throws 3 TDs, McNeese defense stops S.F. Austin 35-0

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- James Tabary threw for three touchdowns and David Hamm rushed for 164 yards and a score as McNeese rode over Stephen F. Austin 35-0 on Saturday night.

McNeese (4-1, 2-1 Southland Conference), which has won four straight after dropping the opener at Nicholls, had little trouble against SFA (2-3, 2-1) which started conference play with wins over Incarnate Word and Abilene Christian before encountering the Cowboys.

McNeese took a 21-0 lead into the break. Tabary had scoring tosses to Kent Shelby and Parker Orgeron in the third quarter.

The McNeese defense, ranked No. 1 in conference in both rushing and total defense, did not give up a touchdown for the second-straight game, limiting the Lumberjacks to 224 total yards. McNeese amassed 505 total yards.

Tabary, who threw for 158 yards, has thrown for a conference-best 1,173 yards this season and leads the league with 14 touchdown passes.

SFA's Jake Blumrick threw for 163 yards with one interception.
