Chattanooga keeps VMI winless with 34-27 win
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Nick Tiano threw for two touchdowns and Tyrell Price rushed for two scores to lead Chattanooga to a 34-27 victory over VMI on Saturday.
Price's 5-yard run, which capped a 14-play, 72-yard drive, gave the Mocs (6-2, 4-2 Southern) a 27-21 lead in the third quarter. Alex Trotter finished off an 11-play, 80-yard drive with a 19-yard run with just under six minutes left to go up 13.
VMI scored on Reece Udinski's second scoring throw of the game with 1:06 remaining but the Keydets (0-8, 0-7) came up empty on an onside kick.
Tiano finished 21 of 35 for 285 yards passing including a 64-yard bomb to Bryce Nunnelly, the fourth 50-yard-plus score for the duo this season. Nunnelly finished with seven catches for 130 yards.
The Mocs held the Keydets to minus-16 yards rushing. Udinski was 20 of 52 for 313 yards passing. Jakob Herres made seven catches for 118.
The loss was the 25th in a row for VMI, the longest active streak in Division I.
