Horsted's all-around game leads Princeton past Harvard 52-17
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Jesper Horsted caught 13 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns and threw for a 2-yard scoring pass on a reverse to help reigning Ivy League champion Princeton beat Harvard 52-17 on Friday night for its third straight victory with 50-plus points.
It was the third-most receiving yards in school history, trailing Michael Lerch's program record of 370 yards set in 1991 against Brown.
Chad Kanoff went 31 of 35 for 421 yards for Princeton (5-1, 2-1) and, with the two TD passes, tied Quinn Epperly for third on the program's career list with 31. It was the eighth-most single-game passing yards in Princeton history.
Charlie Volker had 53 yards on the ground and three TDs, and Collin Eaddy added 83 yards rushing with a score for the Tigers. Stephen Carlson caught 11 passes for 103 yards and a TD.
Horsted, a two-sport standout who leads the league in receptions, put Princeton up 7-0 on a 20-yard touchdown grab and it was 10-0 after a 40-yard field goal. Volker extended it to 17-0 on a short touchdown run early in the second quarter and Horsted scored his second touchdown of the first half on a 66-yard catch-and-run for a 24-3 lead.
Jake Smith threw for 268 yards and an interceptions for Harvard (3-3, 1-2).
