Davis has career day, Youngstown St belts Indiana St, 66-24

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Ricky Davis ran for two touchdowns and threw for four more as Youngstown State snapped its four-game losing streak by crushing winless Indiana State, 66-24, in a Missouri Valley Football Conference game Saturday.

Coming off being shutout for the first time since 2008 in a 35-0 loss at Illinois State, Davis wasted little time getting the Penguins (4-5, 2-4) on the scoreboard, racing 57 yards for the score barely two minutes into the game. He then accounted for three scores in the final 5:28 of the first quarter, scoring from a yard out, then hitting Damoun Patterson and Jermiah Braswell from 18- and 39-yards out.

He hit Samuel St. Surin with touchdown passes of 61- and 64-yards in the third quarter.

Davis set a new career high with four touchdown passes. He completed 10 of 12 for 349 yards and added 98 yards on 14 carries on the ground.
