The 2-1 win was built on Javi Hernandez's opener in the 77th minute before Roy Krishna added a second in stoppage time.
Ritwik Das and Daniel Chukwu were on target as Jamshedpur went within three points of East Bengal FC on the league table.
Jorge Pereyra Diaz opened the scoring for Mumbai from the penalty spot, but Hitesh Sharma found an equaliser for Hyderabad.
Cleiton Silva scored the only goal of the match for East Bengal.
Chennaiyin went behind twice but found two equalisers to keep alive their faint hope of making the playoffs.
Plus.. Kerala Blasters do what they must, barely and FC Goa are balling while East Bengal are not.
