Magpies and Bantams share points

Jon Stead's 11th goal of the season was not enough to send Bradford into Monday night's FA Cup quarter-final replay at Reading with a valuable League One win as it ended 1-1 at Meadow Lane against Notts County. The play-off chasing Bantams grabbed the lead in first-half injury time when Stead swept home from Francois Zoko's left-wing cross against their struggling hosts. But Notts grabbed a share of the points in the 75th minute when Mike Edwards rose highest to power home a header from a corner. The relegation-threatened Magpies had started well with Blair Adams missing an early chance and Garry Thompson's point-blank header booted off the line by Gary McKenzie. But the visitors grew in confidence after Stead's opener and should have extended their lead when substitute James Hanson sparked a mighty goalmouth scramble in the 65th minute.Zoko should have done better with a 70th minute header and Bradford would be made to pay for a series of missed chances when Edwards headed the equaliser past on-loan goalkeeper Jak Alnwick to secure a share of the points.
