Doncaster leave Orient deep in mire
A goal by Rob Jones on 57 minutes settled a drab affair to give Doncaster Rovers a 1-0 win at relegation-threatened Leyton Orient. It was a hammer blow for the home side who were unable to break down the resilient Donny defence who packed their defence at the first sign of threat. The visitors began the second half more purposefully and Orient paid the price for failing to deal with a set-piece when Kyle Bennett sent in a cross and central defender Jones found himself unmarked to power his header past Alex Cisak from 10 yards.Although Josh Wright and Jay Simpson brought full-length saves from Stephen Bywater, there was little else to concern the Rovers shot-stopper who saw his defensive colleagues comfortably deal with Orient's series of high balls into the box.Orient's best chance had fallen to Darius Henderson early in the opening period but he sent his header straight at Bywater and the O's lived to regret the squandered opportunity.Lacking flair, guile, quality and belief, they became increasingly frustrated allowing Doncaster to record their ninth away win of the league season.
