Nardiello at the double for Shakers
Bury replaced Burton at the top of League Two after winning 3-1 in their top-of-the-table clash at the JD Stadium. The Shakers had struggled to break down an organised Albion defence in a tight first half but the visitors contributed to their own downfall after the break.Bury brought on Danny Nardiello for the second half and the experienced striker broke the deadlock within three minutes of the restart.Defensive errors then allowed Ryan Lowe to double the hosts' lead after 57 minutes, and Nardiello to seal victory nine minutes later.Substitute Jacob Blyth's 88th-minute reply was merely a consolation.Burton might have taken the lead as Robbie Weir dragged an early shot wide before Bury's Pablo Mills headed over after a short corner.Tom Soares then spurned a good chance as he failed to turn the ball goalwards after Danny Rose drove it into the danger zone.Burton replied with Callum McFadzean blazing over but Nicky Adams and Craig Jones fired wide for Bury before the break.Rose then made way for Nardiello and he redirected Danny Mayor's shot into the back of the net to claim the opener.Lowe then poked home the loose ball after a clearance was charged down, before Nardiello bundled in Bury's third from a stray backpass.Blyth's late header from Stuart Beavon's cross at least meant Burton avoided a second straight 3-0 defeat.
