Grecians end home hoodoo

Exeter made it three wins in a row with a 2-1 win over League Two leaders Bury in a superb game at St James' Park.Paul Tisdale's men went in front with five minutes on the clock when the highly-rated Matt Grimes curled a stunning free-kick over the Bury wall and into the far top corner from 20 yards. However, the first half was far from one-way traffic as Bury hit back and came close to levelling through former Exeter striker Daniel Nardiello and leading scorer Ryan Lowe, who found himself through on goal, but his shot was brilliantly kept out by the superb Christy Pym.It was certainly a good advert for League Two with both teams playing out from the back in an end-to-end encounter, but Bury got the equalling goal that their play deserved on the hour mark.Tom Soares picked up the ball from distance and with the Exeter defence backing off, he let fly from 25 yards and the ball crept in at Pym's near post. Both sides had chances to win, but it was Jimmy Keohane who emerged the hero as he bundled the ball in after Bury goalkeeper Rob Lainton collided with his own defender seven minutes from time as Exeter won at home for the first time this season.
