Adams starts life with a draw

Tranmere were held to a 0-0 draw by Mansfield in Micky Adams' first game in charge at Prenton Park.It sees Rovers remain in League Two's relegation zone after Jake Kirby's second-half effort proved the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock.Max Power's free-kick created the first real opening for Tranmere, but Armand Gnanduillet failed to connect properly with a header at the back post. And in a first half of few chances Rovers goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams' only action was to scramble a weak Marcus Holness back-pass clear, while Danny Johnson fired over a free-kick before half time.Mansfield were forced to withstand heavy pressure and a bombardment of corners after the break. And midway through the second half Marc Laird played a delightful chip over the Mansfield defence, for Kirby to sting the palms of Sascha Studer with the night's first shot on target. However Tranmere failed to make the most of their pressure, while Mansfield striker Alex Fisher was forced off late on after a clash of heads.
