Daggers put Shakers to the sword

Lowly Dagenham made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory at Bury.Bury had the better of the first half but failed to create enough openings and the Daggers made them pay after the break.Half-time substitute Alex Jakubiak broke the deadlock in the 55th minute before veteran Jamie Cureton pounced with 14 minutes remaining. There was a subdued atmosphere at the JD Stadium after last week's 3-1 defeat by Newport and having made five changes, Bury made a tentative start with Joss Labadie heading wide for the visitors. The Shakers settled but two Danny Rose shots were easy for Mark Cousins while Dan Nardiello fired well wide.Just after half time, Nardiello headed against the bar following a Nicky Adams free-kick.Another Adams free-kick was glanced narrowly over by Craig Jones, yet the visitors struck moments later.A free-kick into the box was headed down by Ayo Obileye for Jakubiak to poke the ball in from close range.Jones then blocked Ashley Chambers' goalbound effort but the Daggers sealed victory when Damien Batt's deflected cross found Cureton, who turned to fire into the bottom corner.Bury almost pulled one back late on as Nathan Cameron headed against a post.
