More home misery for Exeter
Jennison Myrie-Williams and Rory Donnelly bagged the goals as Tranmere inflicted a third straight home defeat on Exeter with a 2-1 win at St James Park. After a rather drab first 25 minutes in which neither side really threatened, Rovers broke the deadlock with the first meaningful attempt on goal.Lee Molyneux crossed to the back post and found Myrie-Williams, who squeezed the ball home from an acute angle. However, the lead lasted for just eight minutes as Alex Nicholls won a free-kick just outside the area and picked himself up to curl a shot around the wall and into the far corner.Tranmere were back in front five minutes after the restart. Kayode Odejayi fed the ball to Donnelly and he shifted the ball onto his left-foot before drilling a low shot across goal and into the far corner.Rovers could have gone 3-1 up when Myrie-Williams was bundled over inside the box by Craig Woodman, but Christy Pym guessed correctly to keep out Max Power's spot kick.Liam Sercombe came close to an equaliser, but his volley smashed against the crossbar as Rovers hung on for their fourth away win of the campaign.
