Stranraer edge past Peterhead

Ten-man Peterhead were left frustrated as they lost 1-0 to Stranraer in the third round of the Scottish Cup.Striker Rory McAllister wasted a good opportunity for the hosts when he failed to make a clean connection with his shot.James Stevenson then went close for Peterhead with a blazing effort from range after good work from Nicky Riley as the first-half ended goalless.Stranraer took the lead after 61 minutes when forward Craig Malcolm's long ball found Jamie Longworth and he coolly swept home from inside the box.Defender Reece Donaldson was then dismissed for violent conduct two minutes later as Peterhead's frustrations boiled over.Blues goalkeeper David Mitchell pulled off a great save to deny Riley's curling effort late on to ensure Stranraer's progression to the next round.
