Albion hold on to progress

Albion Rovers survived a late onslaught from Queen's Park as they recorded a 2-1 win in the third round of the Scottish Cup. Midfielder Sean Burns almost put the hosts in front when his curling effort was scrambled away by goalkeeper Neil Parry.However, Albion struck right on the stroke of half-time after striker John Gemmell tucked the ball into the net at the second time of asking.Gemmell added a second after 51 minutes when his well-struck effort found the bottom corner courtesy of Scott Chaplain's pass.Midfielder Ciaran McElroy struck the crossbar for the hosts before Burns managed to pull one back at the death after reacting quickest in the box.
