Spot of bother for Spiders

Shaun Fraser scored one penalty but missed another as Queen's Park drew 1-1 with bottom-of-the-table Elgin. After falling behind to Darryl McHardy's early opener, Fraser converted one spot-kick but saw his next effort saved by visiting goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw.Elgin led as early as the second minute as defender McHardy nodded into the net from close range after connecting with Daniel Moore's free-kick.But Fraser restored parity in the 15th minute by beating Laidlaw with a low finish after he had been tripped inside the area.Laidlaw produced a fine save to deny Sean Burns and the stopper then foiled Fraser from 12 yards out to keep the scores level. In the second period the Spiders breathed a sigh of relief when Craig Gunn curled a good chance over the top for Elgin while Bryan Wharton came so close at the other end.
