Elgin fail to take play-off chance
Elgin missed the chance to move into the play-off places as they were beaten 2-1 at bottom-club Montrose.Darryl McHardy cancelled out Jordan Allan's opener, but Graham Webster's second-half strike earned the hosts, who will end the campaign bottom of the Scottish Football League, back-to-back victories for the first time since September.Montrose went ahead in the 33rd minute as Allan tucked in after the visitors failed to deal with Scott Johnston's corner.The lead lasted just four minutes as Elgin scored from a corner of their own. Daniel Moore's delivery picked out McHardy who turned in his fourth goal of the season.But Elgin's five-match unbeaten run came to an end when Webster stroked home after being teed-up by Garry Wood in the 69th minute.
