Annan miss out on play-offs
Annan fell short in their bid for a play-off spot despite a 4-3 home win against Montrose thanks to defender Martin McNiff's late header.McNiff headed home in the 85th minute after Montrose midfielder Ross Campbell had struck twice in as many minutes as the visitors overcame a two-goal deficit to haul themselves level.Annan striker Peter Weatherson had earlier given his side a 19th-minute lead and doubled their advantage with his second four minutes later. In an end-to-end contest Montrose forward Gary Wood pulled one back for the visitors on the hour-mark and although Annan regained their two-goal advantage through striker Junior Ogen six minutes later, Campbell's two strikes, in the 80th and 82nd minutes, drew his side level.McNiff rose highest to head home Annan's winner with five minutes left, but it was not enough to lift his side into a play-off spot as East Fife secured the last place with a 3-1 home win over Elgin.
