Accrington hold off Notts County fightback to boost promotion hopes
Rommy Boco scored twice as Accrington boosted their automatic promotion hopes with a 3-2 victory over struggling Notts County, although the Magpies set up a nervy finish for the hosts.Boco's double strike added to Billy Kee's early opener to leave Stanley seemingly cruising at 3-0, but County pulled goals back in the final 20 minutes through substitutes Ronan Murray and Adam Campbell to keep things interesting to the end.Kee opened the scoring in the 14th minute, firing in his 13th goal of the season with a low shot into the bottom corner of Roy Carroll's net after County lost the ball in midfield.Stanley were controlling the game and it was 2-0 after 21 minutes when a right-wing cross from Piero Mingoia was headed home by Boco - his first goal back in his third spell for the Reds.It was three after 51 minutes when Boco caught Carroll out of his goal, looped the ball over him and then just had to run in and tap it into the empty net from almost on the goalline.County boss Jamie Fullarton had made a double substitution at half-time and both made an impression.Murray pounced on a defensive lapse after 72 minutes and finished well from 12 yards before Campbell slid the ball home from the edge of the area with nine minutes left to set up a grandstand finish, although the visitors could not find an equaliser.
