In-form Carey continues Plymouth's impressive start

Graham Carey's fourth goal of the season continued Plymouth's impressive start to the season as they beat Newport 1-0.Playmaker Carey - a summer import from Ross County - continued his early season goal scoring streak with what proved to be the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute.A quick throw-in from the left wing was teed up by Ryan Brunt and Carey smashed a first time rising drive into the far top corner, giving County keeper Joe Day no chance.Argyle were good value for their lead, with Day required to save from Carey and fellow midfielder Hiram Boateng in a first half dominated by the hosts.Brunt also sent a shot narrowly wide of Day's post as Derek Adams' greens took the game to their Welsh visitors.Terry Butcher used all three of his substitutes in the second half as Newport did their utmost to get back into the game, and was almost rewarded as Zak Ansah hit the bar with a rising shot on 86 minutes leading to a frenetic goalmouth scramble.Luke McCormick was called upon to save from Lennell John-Lewis' spectacular scissor kick, before Carey hit the angle of postand bar with a superb 25 yard free kick.
