Stuart Beavon's goal beats Swindon and sends Burton to the top of the league

Stuart Beavon's first-half strike handed Burton their first ever win at Swindon and propelled the Brewers to the top of League One.Beavon smashed home just before the half-hour to inflict a second successive defeat on Swindon, following their loss at Barnsley last weekend. The striker handed the visitors the lead in the 27th minute.Swindon allowed Damien McCrory's lobbed pass into the box to bounce 15 yards from goal and Beavon punished that hesitancy among the home defence with a clinical volley. It was the Brewers' first ever goal at the County Ground. Wes Thomas wasted a good chance for Swindon to equalise just after the hour, dragging his shot wide from just inside the penalty area after Henrik Ojamaa had blocked an attempted Burton clearance.Jon Obika and Louis Thompson also missed the target and Yaser Kasim had a free-kick pushed over the crossbar by Jon McLaughlin as the hosts pushed for an equaliser in the second half, which never arrived.
