Michael Bostwick strikes late as Peterborough battle back against Walsall

Peterborough shrugged off a controversial dismissal to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw against high-flying Walsall.Substitute Michael Bostwick earned and converted an 87th-minute penalty to ensure caretaker chief Grant McCann remained unbeaten in the hotseat.Bostwick was brought down by Walsall keeper Neil Etheridge and thundered the spot-kick past him with authority during a dramatic finish at the ABAX Stadium. The leveller came only a couple of minutes after Jermaine Anderson had been shown the red card by referee Mark Heywood after a drinks bottle appeared to be thrown into the crowd by the player.Heywood had his attention drawn to an incident by fourth official Rob Smith. But Posh still had to survive a last-gasp scare as Sam Mantom's blockbuster crashed back off the crossbar in the fourth minute of stoppage time.A stunning Romaine Sawyers strike had earlier looked set to earn Walsall victory. The Saddlers star struck eight minutes into the second half with a ferocious blast from 25 yards.Sawyers then failed to add to his tally despite being presented with at least two simpler opportunities before Posh hauled themselves level.
