Ayr go top with Stranraer victory
Ayr United climbed to the top of Ladbrokes League One as they stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games with a 3-1 victory over Stranraer. The hosts opened the scoring just 14 minutes into the game as Ross Docherty played in Robert Crawford and he made no mistake in putting the ball past David McGurn. But the visitors got themselves on level terms in the 29th minute when Scott Robertson got on the end of Christopher Aitken's cross to head home. However, Jamie Adams made sure Ayr went into the break ahead when he met Nicky Devlin's centre to nod home six minutes before the break. And Jordan Preston made sure the points were safe when he headed Alan Forrest's corner past McGurn.
