Queen's Park beat Elgin in feisty encounter
Queen's Park recorded back-to-back Ladbrokes League Two victories by beating Elgin 3-1.David Galt grabbed a 29th-minute opener at Hampden, the former Blantyre Vics midfielder slotting the ball past Mark Hurst from a tight angle.Elgin suffered another setback after the break as Mark Nicolson was dismissed for a second bookable offence.Jamie McKernon doubled the hosts' lead with a superb strike from outside the box on 60 minutes but Chris Duggan soon followed Nicolson down the tunnel when he kicked the ball away. That chink in the Spiders' armour allowed Connor McLaren to halve the deficit by smashing home in the 72nd minute.Goalkeeper Hurst ended hopes of a comeback, however, by putting through his own net with nine minutes remaining.
