Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang double earns Borussia Dortmund win

Borussia Dortmund left it late to beat Ingolstadt 2-0 and reduce the arrears on league leaders Bayern Munich to five points on Saturday.

A late Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace earned Thomas Tuchel's men all three points, but not without a struggle against a strong Ingolstadt side.

The Bavarians gave Dario Lezcano his debut and it was he who had the first chances of the game, testing Roman Burki with a shot from 25 yards and then getting in around the back of the Dortmund defence and forcing Mats Hummels to make a brave diving header to turn a loose ball behind for corner.

Dortmund still nearly took the lead before half-time when Aubameyang got a touch to Erik Durm's cross and his shot was parried, with Adrian Ramos just unable to turn the ball in from close range.

Aubameyang finally broke the deadlock with just over 10 minutes remaining, heading in Lukasz Piszczek's cross from six yards out, albeit from an offside position.

Aubameyang's 20th goal of the season five minutes from time finished Ingolstadt off as this time he timed his run to leave no doubts about being offside before sliding a low shot into the far corner.
