Borussia Monchengladbach's miserable start to the season continued as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Hamburg on Friday night.

It was a night to forget for Gladbach defender Tony Jantschke as his back-pass was intercepted by Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who put Hamburg in front, while he then helped Lasogga's header into his own goal as the visitors doubled their lead before half-time.

Nicolai Muller added a third early in the second half, latching on to a punt forward from Jaroslav Drobny to seal Hamburg's second win of the season and leave Gladbach still waiting for their first point after four matches.

Lucien Favre's men make their Champions League debut at Sevilla on Tuesday off the back of four straight defeats in the Bundesliga.
