Adelaide United thrash Brisbane Roar as Bruce Djite scores two goals
Brisbane Roar's dramatic collapse in form continued on Friday as they were thrashed 4-1 at home by Adelaide United.
After being clear at the top of the table, the Roar are now three without a win and have lost back-to-back games conceding four goals in each match. Both Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC have closed to within a point and can go top when they play this week.
Adelaide took the lead in the 19th minute, though the goal involved a large slice of luck. Craig Goodwin produced a cross from the left which goalkeeper Michel Theo got to, but he only managed to push the ball into onrushing teammate Corey Brown and it bounced in for an own goal.

The Roar started the second half well and were level five minutes after the restart, Henrique scoring from the spot after he was brought down in the box by Isaias.
But parity was short-lived as Bruce Djite scored a penalty himself in the 56th minute after Jack Hingert was adjudged to have pushed Dylan McGowan on the edge of the six-yard box.
Djite netted his second of the game in the 67th minute, latching onto a through-ball by Tarek Elrich before firing home.
The rout was complete in the second minute of stoppage time as Elrich again turned provider after a fine run, setting up Marcelo Carrusca to score from 25 yards out.
Adelaide's fine form has seen them go eight games undefeated and climb seven points clear of Wellington Phoenix, who face Melbourne City on Monday, in the final playoff position.
