Brisbane beat Central Coast Mariners with late Petratos winner

SYDNEY (AP) -- Substitute midfielder Dimitri Petratos scored in the 85th minute Sunday to give Brisbane a 1-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners, moving the Roar to within two points of first-place Western Sydney in the A-League.

Petratos picked up a well-placed pass from Thomas Broich and cut inside to launch a long-range curling shot into the net.

It extended the Mariners' winless streak to 10 matches.

The match concluded the 11th round, with the Wanderers on 23 points from seven wins and two draws. Melbourne City is in third place, a point behind Brisbane, with Sydney FC rounding out the top four, six points off first place.
