Togo win second straight African Nations Cup qualifier

Togo won their second straight game to open their African Nations Cup qualifying campaign as they beat Djibouti 2-0 on Friday.

Serge Akakpo opened the scoring with a header after just four minutes and Jonathan Ayite doubled the advantage shortly before half-time.

Togo took the lead in Group A with six points, three ahead of Tunisia, who play at Liberia on Saturday.

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor failed to arrive for international duty with Togo despite being named in the squad, a day after Spurs omitted him from both their 25-man Premier League squad and their Europa League list.
