Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2-3 Dundee United
Inverness slumped to a 3-2 defeat to already-relegated Dundee United who finished the game with 10 men after taking a three goal lead in the Highland capital.A first-half brace from Simon Murray put United two clear and Edward Ofere added a third 10 minutes after the break in this Ladbrokes Premiership encounter.Jordan Roberts and Liam Polworth pulled goals back for Inverness before the visitors saw Callum Morris sent off for two yellow cards.Caley Thistle kept the same team that beat Partick Thistle 4-1 a week ago, with Jordan Roberts given another start after his goal at Firhill.Caretaker United boss Gordon Young made two changes from the side relegated by neighbours Dundee on Monday, with Billy Mckay and Morris replacing Blair Spittal and Paul Paton.Beleaguered United, who sacked their manager and told the majority of their first-team squad they could leave this week, were unsurprisingly followed by a sparse away support, clearly fed up the club's on and off-field problems. One of those told he can leave, former Inverness striker Ofere, had his side's first opportunity of the game, forcing Owain Fon Williams into a low save. The Wales international could do nothing about the opening goal on six minutes.Mckay nicked the ball off Polworth and fed Murray, who teed off from 30 yards with a rising effort that flew past Fon Williams.Caley Thistle were struggling to muster anything in the way of a response, taking until the 27th minute to get a shot at goal.Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo, the architect of Inverness' destruction of Partick, slotted Miles Storey in and he struck twice against the chest of Eiji Kawashima in quick succession. In a half woefully short on action, the final moments finally provided some incident.Kawashima did well to tip a Storey lob over the top but at the other end, Caley Thistle's defence were unable to produce similar heroics.Mckay saw his shot well saved by Fon Williams and following a six-yard box scramble, from which home defenders somehow failed to clear, Murray bundled the ball over the line.It got worse at the start of the second half as Ofere smashed in from Mckay's cross but a rasping effort from Roberts, which found Kawashima's bottom corner, reduced the arrears. On 69 minutes Inverness were given a further lifeline when Kawashima parried Roberts' effort - which was straight at him - into the path of Polworth, who slotted home.Morris was sent off with 12 minutes to go for two, quick-fire yellow cards as Young's side were left to hang on with 10 men, and despite throwing on Richie Foran up front, Caley Thistle were unable to find an equaliser.ends
