Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas play to draw in Texas derby
FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo ended in a 1-1 draw in a Texas derby between two of the top teams in the Western Conference.
Erick Torres opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute on the counter-attack. The league's second-highest scorer settled a pass from Adolfo Machado and blasted an unstoppable shot past Jesse Gonzalez in the Dallas goal to give his team a 1-0 lead at half-time.
Max Urruti levelled matters for FC Dallas in the 59th minute, taking a Michael Barrios pass and slotting home from the center of the penalty area to make it 1-1.
A frantic closing 10 minutes saw both teams come close, before the intrastate rivalry ended with the sides taking a point each in a match with playoff implications for both.
