Kosta Barbarouses strikes late on in Melbourne's dramatic win over Perth

Kosta Barbarouses scored a 90th-minute winner as Melbourne Victory came from behind to win 3-2 over Perth Glory, re-igniting their A-League finals charge in the process.

Barbarouses won it late on but it was Leroy George who made the difference, setting up Victory's three goals in a majestic performance on Saturday night at AAMI Park.

Goals from James Troisi and Mark Milligan put Victory ahead after Scott Neville had opened the scoring for the fast-starting Glory.

Diego Castro looked to have denied Victory a deserved three points when he latched on to an Andreu through-ball to chip Matt Acton. But one last slice of brilliance from the winger ensured Victory the win in Leigh Broxham's milestone 250th appearance for the club. His last-gasp ball over the top was perfectly controlled and hit by Barbarouses, sparking mad scenes in the rain. The Dutchman was barely containable as Victory returned to winning ways and condemned Perth to a fourth-straight defeat.

The Glory came into the match without a goal since Dec. 21, but scored after 80 seconds in a topsy-turvy game. Teenage full-back Walter Scott's cross from a broken-down corner found Neville at the back post, who rose highest and headed past stand-in keeper Acton. Three Glory players could have knocked it in as Victory's makeshift central pairing of Dino Djulbic and Milligan struggled to get on the same page.

Victory were also missing goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas after an injury in their loss to Wellington last time out, with Terry Antonis also impressing in his first start for the club.

Spearheaded by George, Kevin Muscat's men set about the rescue mission. Time and again, George danced his way into dangerous positions. He had Victory on terms on 27 minutes, picking up his own spilled shot, allowing Troisi to crash home from close range.

Perth should have led at the break but Andy Taggart butchered a one-on-one chance by side-footing Jacob Italiano's cross into Acton's legs.

Just as the Glory jumped out of the blocks in the first half, Victory did in the second. Milligan met George's free kick, lashing past Liam Reddy before celebrating in front of the home fans in the 47th minute.

It was then Besart Berisha's turn to miss a sitter, and Victory paid for it when Castro stole in.

But the home side went again, with George teasing another free kick into the box that Berisha, Milligan and Christian Theoharous all couldn't knock home.

Enter Barbarouses, whose strike put Victory fourth in the table and left Perth outside the top six.
