Record-breaking Aguero hat trick helps Man City hit six past Aston Villa
Sergio Aguero scored a record-breaking hat trick as Manchester City earned a ruthless 6-1 victory at Aston Villa on Sunday.
Aguero became the all-time non British top goal scorer in the Premier League and also hit his 12th hat trick which is also a record.
City scored four goals in the first half through a Riyad Mahrez double, Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
The Argentina international scored two more in the second half as Pep Guardiola's side moved up into second place above Leicester City
Anwar El-Ghazi scored a penalty in stoppage time but Villa drop into the relegation zone below Watford who enjoyed a comfortable win over fellow strugglers Bournemouth earlier in the day.
Mahrez produced a wonderful individual run which saw him glide past former Leicester City teammate Danny Drinkwater to open the scoring after 18 minutes.
Drinkwater had a debut to forget after he lost the ball in his own penalty area which led to Mahrez smashing the ball past Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland to double City's lead.

Four minutes later, Aguero found the net with a long range strike before Jesus got on the end of a Kevin De Bruyne cross to make it 4-0 before the break.
Aguero completed his treble with two second half strikes which saw him surpass Thierry Henry's record as the top scorer with 177 goals and also Alan Shearer's hat trick mark.
"He has scored a lot of goals, he is happy to be here, he is a legend, he has passed another legend in Thierry Henry," City manager Pep Guardiola said. "Everyone has a talent and this is his. He has a gift when the ball's at his feet, he's amazing.
"We congratulated him in the dressing room. He's been doing this over a long, long time."
Villa grabbed a consolation through El Ghazi's penalty with the final kick of the game.
"It was a chastening experience," Villa manager Dean Smith said. "We know they are a top class team but some of the goals we have given away were dreadful... We are embarrassed by some of the goals we have conceded today."
City welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday while Villa travel to Brighton on the same day.
