Late goal gives Internacional dramatic derby victory

PORTO ALEGRE, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Brazilian league leaders Internacional came from behind in a dramatic last few minutes to beat city rivals Gremio 2-1 on Sunday and maintain their hopes of winning the Serie A title.Edenilson converted a penalty in the eighth minute of stoppage time to give the Porto Alegre club a sweet victory over their adversaries.They had gone behind to a Jean Pyerre goal after 76 minutes. However, Abel Hernandez equalised with a header in the last minute of regular time before Edenilson’s late penalty secured the points that took them four points clear of Sao Paulo at the top of Serie A.Gremio are sixth in the standings, 11 points behind.
