Sporting KC downs LAFC with late winner from Daniel Salloi
Daniel Salloi scored his third goal in the last two matches to lift Sporting Kansas City to a 2-1 victory over visiting Los Angeles Football Club.
Salloi's score in the 87th minute helped Kansas City overcome a 1-0 half-time deficit. He took a pass from Felipe Hernandez and chipped one over LAFC keeper Tomas Romero. That culminated a furious second-half attack for Sporting KC.

Sporting KC (7-3-2, 23 points) remained unbeaten at home this season (5-0-2) and have allowed the first goal seven times in 12 matches, going 5-1-1 in those situations.
About five minutes after the skies opened up, Tristan Blackmon yanked down Salloi from behind just outside the box in the 58th minute, earning Blackmon a red card.
It didn't take long for Sporting KC to regain the momentum. Salloi fed a pass into the box that deflected off a defender to the left foot of Alan Pulido. Pulido fired it past a diving Romero (one save) in the 61st minute to even the match.
Pulido left the game about 10 minutes later with an apparent ankle injury. He was not able to put any pressure on his right ankle.
LAFC (3-4-3, 12 points) still have not won back-to-back games this season.
Carlos Vela was not in the starting lineup for LAFC. He came in as a sub in the 57th minute and had several scoring chances but couldn't convert.
LAFC got on the board first in the 24th minute when Kim Moon-Hwan left-footed a shot past SKC keeper Tim Melia (two saves). Moon-Hwan collected a pass from Jose Cifuentes on a counter and fired it to the bottom right corner of the net.
Sporting KC commanded the opening portion of the first half, with more possession and scoring opportunities. But the goal took the air out of the stadium as the Children's Mercy Park crowd grew pensive. The half ended with the stats fairly even, with each team getting six shots.
