Pulido set the tone for the game early on, giving Sporting the lead in the 12th minute.
He scored with a left-footed shot from a tight angle across the goal mouth into the bottom right corner of the net past Dallas keeper Jimmy Maurer. The tally capped a run into the zone and a pass by Gadi Kinda. Salloi was also given an assist for the pass that started the scoring play.
FC Dallas had an excellent chance to tie the game in the 53rd minute when Ricardo Pepi's shot off a mishandled clearing hit the left goalpost.
Szabolcs Schon had another opportunity for FC Dallas in the 58th minute. Melia could not corral a loose ball inside the six-yard box and Schon's try bounced off the crossbar and down on the goal line, but not across it, before being cleared away by Sporting KC defender Ilie Sanchez.
Salloi doubled the lead in the 63rd minute as he took a pass from Johnny Russell and fought off Dallas defender Nkosi Burgess before uncorking a right-footed shot into the right side of the net. It was Salloi's 11th goal of the season, tied for best in the league.
FC Dallas (5-8-6, 21 points) had an 18-game home unbeaten streak snapped, losing on their own pitch for the first time since falling to Nashville SC on Aug. 12, 2020. FC Dallas has lost only twice at home since May 2019, a stretch of 33 games.
