Jesus Alberto Ocejo edges Santos Laguna past CF Montreal

Jesus Alberto Ocejo scored the only goal of the game as Santos Laguna beat CF Montreal on Tuesday.

Jesus Alberto Ocejo's short-range header in the 88th minute gave Santos Laguna a 1-0 victory over CF Montreal in CONCACAF Champions League round of 16 action at Torreon, Mexico, on Tuesday.

Santos' Fernando Gorriaran dribbled into the penalty area and delivered a pass to Ocejo, who beat Montreal goalie Sebastian Breza at the near post.

Montreal had a goal disallowed by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) six minutes into the match, with Romell Quioto's close-range effort reversed due to a foul called on wingback Lassi Lappalainen in the build-up.

The teams will complete their two-game matchup on Feb. 22 in Montreal.
