San Diego Wave FC, Washington Spirit draw 1-1

San Diego Wave FC, led by a resilient performance from Kristen McNabb, managed a 1-1 draw against the Washington Spirit at Snapdragon Stadium on Sunday. The match saw an own goal by McNabb in the first half but she redeemed herself with an equalizer in the second half.

The game started off with both teams showing strong defensive efforts. However, it was the Spirit who took the lead in the 30th minute when McNabb scored an own goal while attempting to clear a cross. 

In the second half, San Diego's persistence paid off as it found its equalizer in the 68th minute. Following a corner kick, McNabb scored from close range to level the game at 1-1.

San Diego goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan had several saves throughout the match, including stopping an attempt from Ouleymata Sarr of Washington (12-2-4). On offense for San Diego (3-7-8), Alex Morgan and Delphine Cascarino created multiple opportunities but were unable to convert them into goals before being substituted.

Washington also made strategic substitutions with Makenna Morris replacing Rosemonde Kouassi and Courtney Brown coming on for Hal Hershfelt among others. Despite these changes and numerous attempts on goal late in the game - including shots blocked or saved - Washington could not find another score.
