Trinity Rodman gets on the scoresheet for Washington Spirit


The Washington Spirit defeated the Portland Thorns 2-1 at Audi Field on Saturday. Leicy Santos scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time to secure the victory. 

Hina Sugita opened the scoring for Portland (8-3-8) in the 49th minute with a left-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Alexa Spaanstra. Trinity Rodman tied it for Washington (13-2-4) in the 60th minute with a shot following a fast break, assisted by Ashley Hatch.

Rodman also had an assist on Santos' game winner.

Goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury made seven saves for Washington.
