The Chicago Red Stars, led by Ludmila and Ally Schlegel, beat the Houston Dash 2-0 at Shell Energy Stadium on Friday.

Ludmila opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a header from the center of the box, assisted by a cross from Mallory Swanson following a set piece situation.

The Red Stars doubled their lead just before halftime when Schlegel converted a penalty in stoppage time after Avery Patterson committed a foul inside the penalty area.

Five yellow cards were issued during the contest, with the Dash receiving three of them.

For Chicago (10-2-11), Alyssa Naeher recorded two saves.

Houston dropped to 4-5-14.
